The aim of the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) is to promote gender equality in the workplace. Organisations which are recognized will need to meet policy frameworks and communication around creating and fostering a gender-equal workforce. The workforce, via survey, overwhelming agree that there is an equal opportunity, flexibility and clear behavioural standards in attracting female talent.

“It is definitely a team effort which makes this recognition a reality for us. Starting with our leaders who make it real. This is also made possible from the efforts of the HR team which reviewed the data at every stage of the employee life cycle and tracking progress on our key KPIs,” commented Ryan Atkins, HR Director, Australia & New Zealand.

To achieve equal outcomes for women and men, with not necessarily the exact same outcomes for all, organisations are required to meet these criteria:
  • Providing equal pay for work of equal or comparable value
  • Removal of barriers to the full and equal participation of women in the workforce
  • Access to all occupations and industries, including leadership roles, regardless of gender; and
  • Elimination of discrimination on the basis of gender, particularly in relation to family and caring responsibilities.

We believe that achieving gender equality is important for workplaces not only because it is ‘fair’ and ‘the right thing to do,’ but because it is also linked to a business and country’s overall economic performance,” said Ryan.

Our people have also benefited from the policies.
