Purpose at our heart

From our origins 130 years ago, we've been passionate about the role we play in helping to shape a better future. That commitment goes beyond what we do and extends to how we do it.

It is our purpose to improve people’s health and well-being through meaningful innovation. The United Nations' Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3 is our guiding light: ‘Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages’.

Purpose at the heart of Philips

Healthy people need a healthy planet

Working at Philips means committing to doing business responsibly and sustainably so people can live healthy lives on a healthy planet.

The lives and livelihoods of millions around the world face danger from climate change. Global healthcare systems, designed to save lives, contribute to over 4% of global CO2 emissions – more than the aviation and shipping industries.

As we strive to transform healthcare, we need to decarbonize it too, by taking climate action, driving the transition to a circular economy, implementing EcoDesign in our products, and partnering with our suppliers to reduce their environmental footprint.

As a Philips employee, you'll be responsible for helping us to deliver that social impact while also ensuring that everything we do is anchored by the highest standards of ethical and responsible practices.
