Purpose at our heart

From our origins 130 years ago, we've been passionate about the role we play in helping to shape a better future. That commitment goes beyond what we do and extends to how we do it.

It is our purpose to improve people’s health and well-being through meaningful innovation. The United Nations' Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3 is our guiding light: ‘Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages’.

Care means the world video Philips
Sustainable care means
the world to us
Working at Philips means committing to doing business responsibly and sustainably so people can live healthy lives on a healthy planet. Climate change is threatening the health and livelihoods of hundreds of millions of people around the world, often hitting the most vulnerable communities earliest and hardest. At the same time, pollution is leading to increased rates of chronic disease, like asthma and cardiovascular disease.

The link between human health and environmental health is central to sustainable healthcare. It's all about delivering quality care to those who need it when they need it, while reducing environmental impact.
