What does "Life is Better when #YouAreYou" mean at Philips?

Meet Mike, a Marketing Manager who also is the Chairperson for Philips Boston Pride Parade. He took over our Instagram account @life.at.philips to share his experience leading up to the big event.
Hi everyone and welcome to Pride month! My name is Mike Marquis, the Chairperson for Philips at Boston Pride, and I'll be taking over #LifeAtPhilips this week! I'm a Field Marketing Manager for our IntelliVue line of patient monitors, working out of the Andover office. We've been hard at work preparing for the Boston Pride parade, which took place this Saturday June 8th. Pride celebrations will be taking place this month in Boston, Nashville, and Seattle. Phillips is commited to Inclusion and Diversity. Life is Better when #YouAreYou and I can't wait to talk with you about the power of this message!

Pride events are all about the celebration of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) social and self acceptance, achievements, legal rights and pride.  We have an AWESOME team that's ready to celebrate! A message that you'll see throughout is "Life is Better when #YouAreYou." Philips believes every individual should be treated fairly and respectfully, and have equal access to opportunities and resources. This means being open to and accepting of the diverse experience, perspectives and style of each and every one of us. What does "Life is Better when #YouAreYou" mean to you?
Quick history/activism post on this Wednesday before we really get rolling with Boston Pride parade content. “The first Pride was a riot” I heard this the other day and it made me chuckle, but it’s true. June 2019 marks the 50 year anniversary of the Stonewall uprising in NYC. An event that sparked the modern #LGBTQ rights movement in the US and around the world. The tireless work of post Stonewall activists has allowed me to live openly in 2019.
