Meet Noor! She took over our Instagram account @life.at.philips to describe her role and overall experience as a Procurement Engineer.
"Hi! This is Noor from Philips in Bothell, Washington State. I am a Procurement Engineer in the Emergency Care and Resuscitation (ECR) business. My passion for healthcare came at an early stage in my life by watching my parents who are doctors."

"I then decided to study Chemical Engineering and after college, I got the opportunity to work at Philips! It was amazing not only to be in a company with more than 100 years of history in healthcare innovation but also to be part of the team who is making defibrillators that saves people’s lives!"

"You might be wondering, what does a Procurement Engineer do? At a high level, our main responsibility is to make sure that our customers are receiving the best safe, reliable and quality products and services. My team ensures that Philips defibrillators are the State-of-the-Art medical devices, which are safe to use and delivers an effective clinical outcome while being cost-effective."
"This is what Philips' culture means to me:
•    They provide their employees with opportunities to grow and thrive. With activities like the Design for Excellence (DfX) and the Philips booth at the UW 2019 career fair
•    They promote  a diverse and inclusive environment
•   They welcome new hires with mingle activities like the WA State Fair with the Cirque Cavallo horse.
•    Work-life balance benefit: this helped me to transition from the university to a full-time employee.

"I would like to share one of my favorite quotes that talks about teamwork: “coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.” Henry Ford. Since I joined, I have been part of two collaborative teams; I got to work with people from different backgrounds, experiences, and geographical locations. Everyone I worked with acts with integrity and takes ownership of projects. This motivates me to get up every day and go to the office."
"After accomplishing my tasks and putting in my 40-hours per week, I like to hang out with family and friends. I like attending American football and baseball games. In addition, during the summertime, I like to go river rafting and hiking in the beautiful mountains around the Seattle area."
